THE REBEL MISSION

The mission of Rebel Filmmaker is simple... to encourage and support the production of feature and short films in our state. Rebel is not a consulting firm, nor a lecture hall. The ultimate aim of the group is to organize AZ film folks by project and support these teams with group contributed resources. Rebel not only aids in the development and production of AZ films, we support, both morally and financially, Indie premieres and festivals in the interest of empowering the film producer to create new markets and continually act more so "independently".

Rebel encourages “shadowing” and “open sets” as much as possible so that the new crop of up and coming AZ filmmakers can get on sets and become involved with AZ film projects. Though the population of your set is your concerns and not mandated or controlled by Rebel, it is hoped that all filmmakers will work and grow together with an attitude of leadership and generosity toward our NEW talent. Afterall, in some places... we're the NEW talent.

POLICIES AND GOALS:
The organizers do not generally make judgments as to any single project's creative viability or subjective value, nor should any member actively and/or publicly protest any short or feature production save by opting to not participate therein.

Though we do not forbid commercial networking, we support and encourage a Rodriguezesque (hence the name Rebel) approach to filmmaking which depresses the importance of budgets and begets films that might cost little more than zero. Rebel members are encouraged to rely on utilizing the Message Board and Mailing List to acquire whatever needs they may have for their film, hopefully for FREE. Need something for your film? A group member probably has it. In short, we are not in the business of spending money.

The Rebel organizers will not be held responsible for productions that do not wrap. It is up to the individual producers of that project to maintain their commitments if such commitments are made.

While Rebel encourages and supports low/no budget films, the organizers are not responsible for any problems that projects or members themselves may endure (legal or otherwise). Rebel, as a meetup and film networking organization represented by Jeremy K Clayton and Ryan Pierson, WILL NOT be held liable for the actions, legal or otherwise, of any filmmaker, producer, or production crew or cast member, nor the result of said actions, as Rebel and its organizers do not publicly or privately permit or empower others to conduct themselves unsafely, illegally, unethically, or in any way that might bring pain, harm, or damage to any person or item of property. As a member of Rebel, you are expected to conduct yourself in a socially acceptable, moral and ethical way. The Rebel organizers reserve the right to remove any member of the group as they deem necessary.

Also, the Message Board and Mailing List are not to be used for commercial advertising (unless approved by the organizers) or your personal "soap box". Those resources are to be used for networking and for the progression of film projects. If you have concerns or feel the need to voice your opinion on a subject, feel free to contact the organizers directly and we will address them promptly.

Now that all of that mumbo jumbo is out of the way….LET’S MAKE SOME MOVIES!
