Cathedral City

FLE has partnered with MOVIES MAKING A DIFFERENCE to develop/produce a politically relevant feature drama, CATHEDRAL CITY. The script, written by Arizona's PAUL DAVIS, has garnered interest from names such as MICHAEL MADSEN, GRAINGER HINES, and MICHAEL CRIDER.

Valley Producers Diana and Paul Davis of MOVIES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, in association with Friar's Lantern Entertainment, present CATHEDRAL CITY, a feature drama to be shot on location in Phoenix and Northern Arizona, early 2010.

'Cathedral City' is the story of a Phoenix area criminal/businessman, Ryan McBride, who has spent the last few years tiring of his main occupation as the go-between and facilitator for criminals and the city establishment. He desires to move on with his life and begin to do something more with it.

To that end he becomes a principal in the sort of crooked real estate deal that he normally merely brokers. The project is a state funded multi-million dollar construction endeavor for middle-income housing. The construction is to be done by a polygamist offshoot Church whose members generate money for the Church by doing such construction jobs and giving all their earnings to the Church (which in real life, does go on). This of course allows the Church to underbid all others and the City to skim the excess allocated funds to it's heart's content.

The City is happy to do business with them, as they believe that the polygamists have as much to lose by public exposure as they do. It is an arrangement that has worked very well for both sides for years. This year will be different.
